Obituary of Mary L. Glowacki

Rotterdam- Mary Briggs Glowacki 62, of Rotterdam, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Ellis Hospital with her loving family at her side. Mary was born in Troy, NY, daughter of the late Donald and Helen McDonald Briggs, she was raised in Stillwater, graduated from Stillwater High School and Albany Business College. Mary worked for 5 years at General Electric, she left to raise her family, then went to work 14 years at Ellis Hospital as a secretary in Health Care Management, she retired in 2002. Mary was a member of Rotterdam Elks LORE and the LORE Bocce League, St. Elizabeth Bowling League and a member of St. Gabriel's Church. Survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard L. Glowacki; her daughter, Debra L. Kristel and her husband Melvyn; her son Richard E. Glowacki and her granddaughter Kayla all of Rotterdam. Also survived by 2 sisters, Deanna Edwards of Saratoga Lake and Donna Coons of Williamstown, MA., and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 30, at 10 AM at St. Gabriel's Church, Rotterdam. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady for those who wish to call. Burial will be in St Adalbert Cemetery, Rotterdam. Memorial contributions in Mary's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
