Schenectady- Louise A. Godlewski 77, of Schenectady, died Monday July 11, 2011 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center. She was born in Schenectady, daughter of the late Matthew and Louise Stankiewski Godlewski. Louise was a lifelong Schenectady resident and she graduated from Mont Pleasant High School, She was an Executive Secretary at General Electric from 1951, first at the main plant, then at WRGB-WGY-WGFM, then back to the main plant, and retired in 1993. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, GE Women's Club and Mic & Camera Retirees Association. Survived by her nieces, Gwendolyn Bechdel (Bob) of Mill Hall, PA, Gloria Jones of Escondido, CA, Julia Ann Russell (Scott) of Hanover, MA; nephew, Francis Todd Jones of Las Vegas; her Aunt, Regina Pajak of Schenectady. Also survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by her sister Natalie, her twin sister Theresa and her sister Marie N. Fitzmier. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Friday, July 15th at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Louise's memory to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 or to The Foundation for Ellis Medicine, 1101 Nott St., Schenectady, NY 12308.

Louise was a life long Schenectady resident, she graduated from Mont Pleasant High School. Louise was a former volunteer for Hospice and Ellis Hospital Foundation and a member of GE Quarter Century Club, GE Womens Club and Mic & Camera Retireies Association. Survived by her sister, Marie N. Fitzmier of Las Vegas, NV; nieces, Gwendolyn Bechdel of Mill Hall, PA, Gloria Jones of Yuba, CA, Julie Ann Russell of Las Vegas, NV; nephew, Francis Todd Jones of Las Vegas; her Aunt, Regina Pajak of Schenectady. Also survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by her sister Natalie and her twin sister Theresa.
