Obituary of Dennis A. Erikson

Niskayuna - Dennis A. Erikson 62, of Almeria Road, Niskayuna, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009. Dennis was born in Schenectady, son of Carl A. Erikson and the late Katharin Horton Erikson. He was a graduate of Niskayuna High School and a Vietnam Veteran. Dennis was employed for over thirty years at GE Research & Development Center, Niskayuna, in the Model Shop, retiring one month ago. He was an active member with Sand Point Beach, Schroon Lake, NY, and an active member and volunteer with Grand Blvd. Fire Company in Niskayuna for many years. Survived by his son, Matthew Erikson and his wife Dao of Schenectady; his father, Carl A Erikson of Niskayuna; his brother, Carl E. Erikson of Schenectady, niece Kirsten Doherty and her husband Colin and nephew, Carl Erikson and his wife Justine. Predeceased by his mother Katharin Horton Erikson on June 11, 2006. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a committal service with full Military Honors at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 16th at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. Calling hours will be Monday evening from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St.,(at McClellan St.), Schenectady.
