Obituary of Peter L. Wallard

Schenectady- Peter L. Wallard 79, of Clayton Street, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, May 14, 2011. Pete was born in Schenectady, son of the late Clifford and Marion Howard Wallard. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and enlisted in the Air Force where he was a Sergeant during the Korean Conflict. Pete was a certified Cadillac mechanic specialist working at Wendell Cadillac and Otto Cadillac. He was a Past Master of Christopher Yates F & AM in Schenectady and a 41 year member of American Legion Post 1005. Pete was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly Banden Wallard in 1955 and his second wife Jean Belile Wallard in 1996. He is survived by his daughter, Anna Sheridan; granddaughter Robyn Sheridan Baidy (Paul), grandson Sean Sheridan; 4 great grandchildren, Leila, Payton, Paul and Phoenix; his brother, Charles Wallard (Marian). Also survived by several nieces, nephews and his longtime friend, Bob Christenson. Predeceased by his sister, Anna Mae Ruth. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., ( at McClellan St.), Schenectady. Military Honors will be Wednesday morning at 11 AM at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made in Pete's memory the American Heart Association.
