Obituary of Laura L. Moore

Schenectady - Laura L. Moore, 89, died peacefully with family on Wednesday evening October 12, 2011 at Ellis Hospital. Lauralee was born in Schenectady and lived in the area all her life. A 1940 graduate of Nott Terrace High School, she was an active community volunteer, serving at Ellis and Sunnyview Hospitals for many years. She was a real estate broker with Veronica Lynch, Inc. for 28 years, and a member of the First Reformed Church and Mohawk Golf Club. Lauralee was an artist, an avid reader and gardener, and shared her zest for life with many friends. Her husband, Robert B. Moore, died in 2003 after 61 years of marriage. Mrs. Moore is survived by her two children, Luanne Moore of Schenectady and Robert H. Moore of Fairfield, Iowa; three grandchildren, Travis Moore of Clifton Park, Mira Moore of Chicago, Jennifer Rafferty of Charlton; and two great-grandchildren, Evan Sweeney of Charlton and Kaitlyn Moore of Clifton Park. A memorial service will be held at the First Reformed Church Poling Chapel on Sunday, October 23 at 1:00 PM with a reception immediately following at Assembly Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to First Reformed Church or Memorial Sloan-Kettering, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065.
