Regina (Godlewski) Pajak, 95, passed away on February 15, 2017 at Methuen Village, a retirement home in Methuen, Massachusetts
Regina, the youngest child of the late Aleksander Godlewski and Antonina (Dombrowski) Godlewski was born on December 4, 1921; she was a lifelong resident of Schenectady. After graduating from Draper High School, Regina worked at General Electric Company. She met her husband, the late Theodore M. Pajak, when their PNA choirs, hers, the Kalina Glee Club and his, the Chopin Male Chorus collaborated on a musical program. They were married on September 27, 1941 and enjoyed 53 years of marriage until his death in 1995. She is survived by two children, Pamela and James.
When her children were school age, Regina worked at Sinkora's Market in Mont Pleasant and then as a bookkeeper at Grand Union. A world-class cook, Regina loved preparing meals for her children and their families. These feasts were the foundation of innumerable celebrations and regular family gatherings. She delighted in her grandchildren and relished their company.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her seven siblings; Alice Oliver, Matthew Godlewski, Celia Pikor, Stanley Godlewski, Alphonse Godlewski, John Godlew, and Joseph Godlewski. She is survived by her daughter Pamela Banach and husband Robert Banach of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; son James Pajak and wife Louise of Sandown, NH; grandchildren Robert Banach, Jr. and his wife Liat of Phoenix, AZ; Aimee Sheehan and her husband Joseph of Fuquay-Varina,NC; Johanna Pajak Korshina and her husband Vladimir of San Francisco, CA; great-grandchildren Julia and Jordan Banach of Phoenix, AZ., and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial on Monday February 27th, at 9 AM at The Church of St. Adalbert. Calling hours will be held on Sunday February 26th from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady for those who wish to call. Burial will be at St. Adelbert Cemetery.
