Florida-Maria Ortiz, a vibrant soul who embarked on a remarkable journey through life, was born on March 23, 1949, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. She peacefully passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 74, while in hospice care in Leesburg, Florida. Maria's life was filled with love, adventure, and devotion to her family. At the age of 15 in 1964, Maria embarked on a courageous journey, leaving her parents behind to start a new life. She, along with her neighbor, took a flight to Boston, Massachusetts, where her journey of independence began. In Boston, she started her own path, eventually moving to Chicago to care for her cousin Cruz's children. Maria was a single mom, and she worked tirelessly on an electrical assembly line during the week while finding time to make extra money on the weekends. It was during her time in Chicago that Maria's life took a beautiful turn. She met the love of her life, Fransisco Bello, affectionately known as "Pancho" to friends and family. Fate had a sense of humor, as they both crossed paths at a bar playfully named "the office." Little did they know that their meeting would lead to a love story that spanned 33 wonderful years. Maria and Pancho's love was a source of inspiration to everyone around them. Together, they built a life filled with happiness, adventure, and shared dreams. A few years ago, they decided to move to Florida, where they continued to embrace life's beauty and surprises. Maria's love extended beyond her husband; it encompassed her three children, Marilyn Ortiz, Roberto Ortiz, and Jose Laboy, who will forever cherish her memory. She was also a beloved grandmother, doting on her grandkids and showering them with affection. Maria had a knack for culinary delights and was known for her delicious meals. She had a passion for shopping, adored her canine companions, and had an adventurous spirit that took her on countless journeys. Whether she was exploring new places or enjoying the simple pleasures of life, Maria did it with grace and a zest for living. As winter rolled around, Maria and Pancho enjoyed their time as snowbirds, migrating to Florida to savor the warmth and sunshine. Ultimately, they decided to make Florida their permanent home. Maria Ortiz's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, which meant everything to her.
