Even today being a retired nurse I look back on my career and know with confidence that I wouldn't have had the sharp and accurate assessment skills Iif I hadn't been taught by Dr Atkinson. I was lucky enough to get a B and C in her classes but I came out almost ready for medical school. Although it was very stressful to meet her standard I will forever be grateful for her teaching me to realize the importance of truly understanding how the human body works .
She really cared that prospective nurses came out with the knowledge she passionately taught.
Rest in peace Dr.and thank you.

Dr. Hooverman was the greatest and toughest teacher I have ever experienced. I still talk about her. I was told that a B in her class would be an A in any other class. I would take notes when I read the book in blue and red from her lectures. People went to neighboring schools to take A and P and Microbiology from easier professors. I felt I got a superior education and found I could easily discuss diseases with doctors that others could not. I studied 18 straight hours for the micro final. I was extremely proud of my A. I invited her to my graduation but she was unable to attend. 25 years later I still speak about her and am grateful. May she rest in peace knowing that she probably saved many lives. Lois Mills
