Beverly Kay Vititow, 89, of Dongan Avenue, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at Glendale Home. Born on October 10, 1933 in Schenectady, NY she was the daughter of Myron Van Natten Johnson and Dorothy Marie (Sleeter) Johnson of Scotia. Beverly’s parents raised her in Ossining, NY, Hagerstown, MD, and returned to Scotia NY in Bev’s teen years. She graduated from Scotia High School in 1951, and attended college in Philadelphia, PA, where she earned a degree in Phlebotomy. She was employed by the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh and finished her career locally at Bellevue Hospital in 1997. Bev met her husband, Thomas Vititow (Peoria, IL) when he was stationed with the US NAVY at Philadelphia. They were married for 49 years at the time of Tom’s passing. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother of 6 children. She was a square dance and round dance instructor for over 20 years. She inherited an artistic eye and continually strived to improve at her painting, sewing, crafting, quilting and card making. She met and married her second husband, Ron Willis and they were together 13 years before his passing. Bev enjoyed many special friendships that remained dear to her until her final days. Beverly is pre deceased by her husbands: Thomas Vititow and Ronald Willis; and sons Michael and James Vititow. She leaves her children: Jean (Sean) Thompson of Cornwall, NY; John Vititow of West Palm Beach, FL; William Vititow of Scotia and Robert (Lan) Vititow of Binghamton, NY; 10 Grandchildren (Megan (Joe) Gebert, Matthew (Kate) Thompson, Thomas Vititow, Myron (Maeve)Vititow, Dylan Vititow, Amanda (Jerrod) Milford, Jocelyn Vititow, Maylin Vititow, Leanna Vititow, Michael Vititow) and 2 Great-Grandchildren (Natalie Gebert and Jack Gebert). A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 3-4 Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. Calling hours will be held from 1-3pm prior to the service. A committal service will be held at 2:30pm Monday, January 9 at Saratoga National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Wreath’s Across America, PO BOX 249, Columbia Falls, ME 04623.
