Marilyn Ann (Hartnett) May, 8 of Saratoga Springs passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 12, 2022 at her home.
Born on December 5, 1938 in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of late Thomas J. and Lillian (Dalton) Hartnett and the sister of the late Frances E. Hourigan.
Marilyn grew up in Troy and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School.
Retiring in 1993 after many years of service, she was employed as the lead secretary at Sears in Colonie.
She was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She was a volunteer for Community Hospice and worked for the Saratoga County Board of Elections.
Marilyn was an avid reader. Spending time with her family was most important. She cherished her grandchildren and the traditional Sunday Dinner gatherings with family.
In retirement, she and her husband William J. May, Jr. spent many years at Saratoga Lake. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage until his passing on September 8, 2020.
She is survived by a daughter Karen A. May of Saratoga Springs; 2 sons: William T. (Terry) May of Clifton Park and Brian May of Niskayuna. She was the adoring and selfless grandmother of four loving grandchildren: Justin & Shaun May of Clifton Park and Brandon and Sarah May of Niskayuna;
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Wednesday, November 16 at All Saints-On-The- Hudson North, 895 Hudson Ave., Stillwater, NY. There are no calling hours. The Rite of Committal will follow at 11:30am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Town of Saratoga.
