She was a wonderful surrogate mother to my family and me. She welcomed us with open arms when we first came to town and never let us forget how special we were to her and Harold. She welcomed each of our children and grandchildren in the same wonderful way. She always had a smile for us. She taught us how to live. Our sincerest sympathies to her entire family who mourn her passing. We loved her like a mother.

We are so lucky to have had Junice with us for so many years. I was able to join Junice at our Cousins Luncheons. She really enjoyed seeing so many cousins.
I have many memories of past Christmas’s at the Wusterbarth’s after Dawn service at First Methodist with my family, Junice’s sister’s family. We had many Christmas Eve’s together with the Wusterbarth’s and Devoe family. All the children got to open some Christmas gifts and celebrate her sister’s Christmas Eve birthday. On visiting the Rose Garden at Central Park, I found a brick with Junice’s name as a devoted volunteer. We will miss her honesty and wonderful laugh. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and all the family.

Dear Family and Friends of Junice...I met Junice (and Harold) about ten years ago and visited them & their family members during some holidays at their home and others' homes. Junice was very gentle, kind, and welcoming, and I am grateful for being a part of her very long life, Thank you Junice, for all the joy and benefits you brought to this increasingly troubled world...and I among many, many others miss you. No matter how long one may live, how good quality-of-life is or may be, it still not possible (to me) to 'prepare for' or 'rehearse' the somber day when anyone who is cared about passes on. R.I.P. Junice...may you live on in our collective hearts and thoughts... In Sympathy, John W. Morse

I definitely consider myself one of the lucky surrogate ones who were able to call her Grandma. She was exactly 90 years older than my own daughter. When Emerson was six years old we went to go visit Grandma and she was nervous about what she would talk to a 96-year-old woman about… she decided to ask Junice what her favorite things were when she was six years old. Grandma told her a story about creeking with her siblings and how she love to find the beautiful purple flowers. She then proceeded to tell Emerson the genus, name and species of the lovely flowers that she used to find as a six year old. The beautiful twinkle in her eyes will always be missed but it lives on in her family!

My deepest sympathies to the Wusterbarth and Frisoni families. I was so saddened to hear the news as Junice has been such a dear friend to me for so many years. She was one of my biggest supporters during the time that I served as Director of Music Ministries at First Methodist Church. I treasure the many times that we shared a visit as she would always so graciously welcome me into her home. It was so much fun to spend time with her and I particularly enjoyed getting her to laugh! She always greeted me with a big smile and a warm hug. Junice simply had a way about her to make you feel welcome and very important to her. She did the same for her church family which meant so very much to her. Her faith, strength, determination, charm, sense of humor, loyalty and her welcoming presence were hallmarks of who Junice was. I will always remember Junice with great affection.

I never saw she and Harold when they did not have a smile on their faces. The twinkle in her eyes made me smile.
