Obituary of Joanne E. LaVallee

Please share a memory of Joanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On the morning of Thursday, September 15th the LaVallee Family Matriarch, Joanne LaVallee, passed away after an impressive 86 trips around the sun. We are saddened by the things she will miss, but happy we had so much time to spend with her. She survived the loss of her husband, the passing of her eldest son, multiple health issues and the unfathomable stress of raising 3 rambunctious boys and a beautiful daughter. Had fate itself not decided it was time, we are certain she would have outlived us all. She was sharp to the end, compassionate, and extremely capable of laughing at herself (as is somewhat of a requirement in this family). She was deeply invested in all our lives, so deeply in fact, that we noticed something was wrong after barely a few hours had passed without hearing from her. Her devotion to her husband Raoul and their commitment to each other has influenced all our lives, showing us what a relationship can be. Her love and caring heart for family and friends is the greatest gift she has bestowed upon us. Without that strength there would not have been the LaVallee clan. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was a constant presence in her folding lawn chair attending all the ball games and performances throughout our lives. She ended all of her calls with “Love you, bye bye”. Joanne is predeceased by her husband Raoul, son Kevin LaVallee, sister Alice Karker. Survived by her sister Janice Mau, daughter and son-in-law Dierdre and Jim Davidson, son and daughter-in-law Chris and Shelley LaVallee, son and daughter-in-law Scott and Chessie LaVallee. Grandchildren, Jessica (Patrick) Irwin, Victoria (Herc) Ingels, Eleanor LaVallee, Freddy (fiance Cara) Davidson, Danyelle (Garrett Hamilton) Davidson, Kelsey Davidson, Jenna Davidson, Sophia LaVallee, Calvin and Cameron LaVallee. Great-grandchildren Keegan and Cora Irwin, and Kayden Ingels. Service to be held Friday September 23rd from 10am – 12:00pm at Jones Funeral Home (inside Cannon Funeral Home), 2020 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12205. Joanne loved our country and was fiercely supportive of first responders.
