Obituary of Donald C. Bisgrove

Schenectady Donald C. Bisgrove age 80 passed away peacefully Wednesday August 31st at Albany Medical Center. Born in Niskayuna March 31st 1942 to Charles and Mildred Bisgrove. Don was a loving husband to Kirsten Bisgrove for 56 years. He was a graduate of Niskayuna Highschool and Doane College of Nebraska. Don was the General Manager of the Niskayuna CO-OP for 38 years retiring in 2014. He was loved and respected by fellow employees and customers alike. He was an original founding member of the Schenectady East Rotary Club serving as President and Sergent at Arms. He was also a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a strong man of faith and a member of Christ Comm. Church of Schenectady. After his retirement Don enjoyed traveling and going to his camp where he made close bonds and friendships. He was most proud of his eight grandchildren. Don is survived by his daughters Amy Rogers (Brian) and Julie Petersen. His eight grandchildren Sarah, Alexandria, Isabelle, Daniel, and Charlie Rogers. Savannah, Madison, and Mitchell Petersen. His Great granddaughter Josie Hill. He is also survived by his brothers Bart (Marilyn) Bisgrove and Jack (Joan) Bisgrove. As well as many nieces and nephews. Don is predeceased by his wife Kirsten. His daughters Amy and Julie would like to express their appreciation to Don’s family and friends who have always loved and supported him as much as they have. He was a kind and patient man who will be forever missed. The family will receive family and friends at Jones Funeral Home 2020 Central Ave., Colonie, NY 12205, on Friday September 16th from 10-12 followed by a service at noon. Burial will be at Memory Gardens following the service. The family requests that donations be made to Schenectady East Rotary Club c/o Sec. Sue Austin, 435 Bolt Rd. Scotia, NY 12302.
