I remember the first time I met Jim, he was my customer. He asked Ray Jachlewski and I from the Datacenter to come to his office. I thought we were called there for him to yell at us for poor customer service. We all know that didn’t happen, but he clearly let us know he wasn’t happy with our service.
About a year later, I had the privilege of working for Jim. Unlike many other tech managers of the time, Jim was not afraid to take a chance on hiring women for tech work. He was great to work for and he built one of the best teams I’ve ever worked with. He treated us like family, inviting us over to his lake house for a picnic.
Many of us on that team are still friends today. I’m so grateful that we were able to get together last year for a reunion on Zoom. I wish I thanked Jim on that call for being a great boss, hiring me and the great people I had the privilege to work with in the 90s. I hope he knew what a big impact he made in our lives.

One thing I always think about, when losing a loved one....is to try and pick 1 or 2 specific characteristics that you loved about that person...and make a commitment to try and keep that wonderful characteristic alive in your family! ....the lost loved one will appreciate watching it from above....and your family will feel it....and you will feel great about it!
Jim gives us MANY great characteristics to choose from!
I welcome family and friends to download and print the PDF page at the link below, and display lovingly in your households...

I worked at the CRD from 1969-to 1993 and did various software system groups and saw Jim regularly for over 20 years. While I lived in Schenectady, I worked for 12 years in Yourtown Heights consulting and was away a lot. I'm sorry to hear another of the CRD ways gone.
