Obituary of Isabelle E. Paige

Niskayuna Isabelle E. Paige, 97, of The Plaza and The Heritage Home for Women, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at Ellis Hospital. Born on Feb. 21, 1925 in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of Chester and Helen Pawluc. Isabelle was a graduate of Albany High School and in 1951 married Edward W. Paige. She was a lifelong homemaker. Her passions were music, motherhood, and gardening. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, mentor, and advocate. She was a notable opera singer and was accepted into the Julliard School of Music. With her life of music, and being bi-lingual (Polish and English), she performed for many weddings, funerals, and community events. Isabelle was a member of the Thursday Musical Club at the Union College Chapel as well as singing in many church choirs including St. John the Evangelist church. Another interest was politics and news. She was very patriotic and was a former candidate for the Niskayuna Town Board. Besides her husband, she is pre-deceased by two daughters: Ellen Paige (1988) and Janet Paige (2012). She leaves a daughter Clare Strom and husband Ralph; two sons: Steven Paige of Delanson and Robert Paige of Niskayuna; grandchildren: Edward Strom of Tucson, AZ, Kate Lee of Denver, CO, Michelle Bone of Wisconsin, Alison Cordera of Humboldt, CA and Garrett Paige of Troy, NY; five great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, March 18 at Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union Street, Schenectady. A calling hour will be held from 11am to 12 Noon prior to the service. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heritage Home for Women, 1519 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12309.
