A Memorial Reception to honor her life will be held at Mohawk Golf Club on Sunday Nov. 7th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Friends, family, and colleagues are welcome to gather to express condolences and to share fond memories of her at that time.

Mims and I worked together for many years at Clinical Services. When I first met her she was a counselor and her sons were in school. She was committed to her husband and boys and spoke lovingly of them. You could often hear her voice down the hall with her laugh or addressing someone with something like “hey baby” or other upbeat infectious terms. She was someone always impeccably dressed down to an accent of a pin or scarf, big smile and a sparkle in her eyes. In later years Mims would become my supervisor, stern when situations in the office called for that but also compassionate and supportive. Mims was a calming force and was always willing to lend an ear, shoulder or advice. She was ever interested in my nursing studies and later career and enjoyed being updated on what life was offering me. I had the opportunity to speak with her over the summer and she shared with me her peace with her health and even then was the upbeat woman I always knew.
