Obituary of Cynthia A. Love

Please share a memory of Cynthia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Niskayuna-Cynthia Ann Love (Tatarek), 63, born on April 14, 1958 peacefully departed this world in her home on July 4, 2021 surrounded by her loving family after fighting a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Cynthia was born in Schenectady, NY to Helen (Pachucki) and Eugene Tatarek, and was a graduate of Mohonasen High School. Later in life, Cynthia earned her bachelor’s degree from Excelsior College while working full time. She proudly leveraged that degree in her professional position at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. Her proudest accomplishments were raising her three beautiful children and spending all of her free time with her seven beautiful grandchildren, whom she loved more than all else. A loving mother, wife, and Babcia, Cynthia is survived by her husband US Navy (Ret.) CAPT Evan Love, three children, Kevin (Jan) Lancto, Steven (Lena) Lancto, and Michelle (Bryan) Reisch, two step-children, Jessica (Gary) Polmateer and Kiera Love, and seven grandchildren, Lillian, Logan, Grace, Tessa, Mackinnon, Breigh, and Jordan. Cynthia predeceases her mother, Helen, and three beloved siblings, Gail (the late James), Michael (Elizabeth), and Patricia (Marty). Cynthia was also blessed with several nieces and nephews, whom she cherished deeply. Additionally, she leaves behind her dearest friend of more than forty years, Laura Lucia, who is family to Cynthia, Evan, and her children. There are few things Cynthia loved more in this world than being a Babcia; over the past ten years, this role gave her life new meaning. Crafty at hand and generous in love, she created cherished memories through art projects, Halloween costumes, birthday cakes, and playtime fanfare. She spent much of her free-time in her art studio creating beautiful masterpieces with acrylic paints. Cynthia was a devoted Christian with a strong faith and enduring spirit. Her legacy of love and faith will live on through her family. Cynthia’s children are eternally grateful for the love and caregiving that her husband Evan provided over the last few years of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to The DONNA Foundation (thedonnafoundation.org) in memory of Cynthia to help fund research and support families affected by this terrible disease. There will be no calling hours. A church service will be held on Thursday July 8th at 1pm for family and friends at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church (1229 Baker Ave, Schenectady, NY). Masks are required.
