I’m very sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. O’Connell. He was a very nice man who was very active in volunteering at saint Kateri parish. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May he join God, as he welcomes Mr. O’Connell into his heavenly kingdom.

My heart goes out to Kathleen and the family.
I had the distinct pleasure to serve alongside Jim at NYSDOT. I can say there were none better than Jim. He was both the consummate gentleman and very competent engineer.
If Jim were to say something was true, one could take that to the bank. If he said he would get something done, rest easy, it was done.
I was indeed lucky to know him as a person and work with him as an engineer.

Mr. O’Connell was one of the leaders I respected the most in my 27 years of career in NYSDOT. He was a leader with integrity, professionalism and a man of justice and conviction. I am blessed to have had such a leader.
May he rest in God’s loving arms, and my God give his loved one’s peace and comfort during this time of sorrow.
