Obituary of John S. Eldridge Jr.

John Spencer Eldridge Jr., 77 years old, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at home on March 29th. “Jack” and his wife Gail of 19 years was a long time resident of Scotia. He was predeceased by his parents, John S. Eldridge Sr., Marion Riley Eldridge and his sister Joan Marion Eldridge.
John is survived by his brother Richard I. Eldridge (Ellen) of Pittsfield, MA, sister Eve M. Lansing (Thomas) of Ballston Spa; three children Marianne E. Myers (Steve) their three children and three grandchildren of Buffalo, Dianne M. Dobert (Gregg) their three children and one grandchild of North Carolina, John S. Eldridge III (Deirdre) their one child of Saratoga Springs; two stepchildren Jennifer Stearns (Eric) and R.J. Hickman (Kellie) and four grandchildren.
John graduated from Niskayuna High School in 1961. He served honorably in the United States Airforce Unit 3710th BMTs. John retired after working 44 years working at General Electric as a Lab Technician.
He was devoted to God, Family, and Country. John is a long standing member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Scotia where he served as Property Trustee and enjoyed their very active Men’s Group. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and friend to many. He so loved our Country and believed in all of its founding principles.
Calling hours will be Saturday, April 3rd, from 2pm to 4pm at Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., Schenectady, NY. Funeral service will be held the same day at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church beginning at 7pm in person or online at https://youtu.be/7WrgQB8WiF8.
