Prof. Weick was a favorite professor of mine during my years as a Chemistry major at Union. A talented teacher and a warm soul who always exuded compassion and humor for his students, he will be missed.

I stumbled upon Prof. Weick's obituary. I share this with is wife and sons, and his colleagues. His course in radio chemistry was one that I remember clearly. The course for us 'non coms' was great, as was he. A time and a place when the faculty knew and cared about those that passed through their office doors and were in their charge.. Wonderful to read about his passion to teach 'out of the gun'. It showed. Jim Mastracco '79

Charlie was one of the very few chem professors I didn't have a class with, but he was always warm, friendly and helpful whenever he was around. My condolences to his family and friends, he will be missed.

I probably didn't apologize enough to Chuck in 1959 when I ruined his brand new nuclear chemistry lab practically on opening day. I was heating a small beaker of benzene over open flame and of course it caught fire and sent a column of black soot to the ceiling -coated it and sent a black snow down on the rest of the lab.
His face was also ashen.
May be that's why I got the only C in chem courses at Union.
Despite that, I have had a successful 60 yr. career in chemistry and often think about that wonderful dept. that Chuck was an integral part of.

My condolences to Janet and the boys. Chuck was an established faculty member when I arrived at Union. He was always generous with his time and was a helpful mentor to me. Union was a sadder place when he retired and is a sadder place now.
