I got to know Dick many years ago in the gym at Union where we must have spent hours over the years chatting in the weight room, pool or locker room. He had a ready supply of stories (some printable) about his days at Union and Mount Herman. (As a runner, I loved his Frank Shorter stories.) He reveled in his kids' adventures and kept me up to date on whatever interesting place Jeff had just landed or his weekend plans in Vermont. When I told him once that my family was going skiing at Bromley, he immediately had me to come to his office for some passes. It was good to see him occasionally in other places but I always looked forward to my trips to the gym. Take care.

Sorry to hear of Dick’s passing. He was my Moms as well as my own broker. He called me one time when I was up working on a roof, and every subsequent phone call he would always joke “are you up on the roof?”
He was a good guy. May he rest
In Peace

I was so sorry to hear of Dick's demise. He had a very strong will to live, as evidenced by his long struggle with Alzheimer's. I admired his humor and gifted intellect. He was a pillar in the community and will be sorely missed. I'm certain that if angels do fly low to the ground, Dick's spirit will be around a long time. Prayers out to the entire family. May God hold you close in the coming days, surrounding you all with his warmth and grace. - John (and Karen) Moak
