She was an avid volunteer of her time to her children’s schools and helped to feed the hungry at the City Mission of Schenectady. Tomoko was predeceased by her devoted husband, Richard W. Akin, in 2011. She is survived by her three sons, Michael Akin (wife, Jacqueline Akin), Richard T. Akin (husband, Joseph Austin), and John Akin (wife, Cynthia Akin), and her four grandchildren, Samantha, Ashley, Penelope, and Percival.
