I worked for Elsie at GE in Customer Billing. She was an inspiration and one of the first female managers at GE in Schenectady. Elsie shared her extensive knowledge and encouraged the next generation of female managers. Over the years we kept in touch and my husband and I would drop off Christmas cookies. She would always insist we come in to visit and catch up. She will be missed. Chris

So many memories with Elsie. Met her in 1991 when I started dating her friend Mary Wilson’s nephew, Chris. We shared many Thanksgivings with Elsie. Eventually Thanksgiving moved around the corner from her house to our home, meant she could still drive her Cadillac, she was happy. She was feisty and funny, up to our last visit with her in June for her birthday, COVID style through a screen window. She had lots to say about politics and damn COVID. My friends Kim and Denise became great friends too with Elsie when they started cleaning for her. We enjoyed lunch with Elsie at Redwood. “The girls, you girls” is what she called us. One GE employee to another, she worked in the same building I am in now. So many stories of her career she would share and always checking in how I am doing down there at the plant. RIP Elsie.
