Martha, you and Ivan will forever be a cherished part of my life's memories. I am spending the summer in Cape May and will not be able to speak with you personally. I have often spoken about our times together and the smiles we shared so many years ago. [Mink coats do not reproduce...] I pray that you always remember what joy you brought to his life. We wish to send our condolences to the family of Ivan Hernandez, MD. We knew Ivan well while Carl was in practice of orthopedic surgery in Schenectady 1969 through 1999. Carl and Ivan shared medical care to multiple patients and knew Ivan as a spectacular General and Vascular surgeon and then Wound care specialist. Joann and Carl were only 10 months younger than Ivan. We are familiar with the Joan Prince Home and have regularly supported their care. We will send a donation to them in Ivan's name. Because of our ages we elected not to risk Covid illness by attending the Calling Hours or the Funeral Mass by Father Carlino on Monday.

We are heartbroken to hear about our loss of Ivan,,, We will always remember our good times in Duck Key.. smoking Cuban Cigars and " Wonderful " Cuban Christmas Eve Dinners ! I can see Ivan now , driving his antique car with the top down through the neighborhood.. How he loved his " Cats " , especially " Riley ".....Never dull living next door to Ivan and Martha ...We often share stories of Ivan growing up in Cuba.. Ivan we be greatly missed ! Tom and Micky
