Sorry to hear of his passing. He was one of the best I ever worked for. He will be missed. I was his secretary at Amsterdam Memorial before he retired.

My grandpa was never short on advice ,he used to tell me when I felt like giving up to pick myself up walk it off and keep going ...I’ve carried that with me for so many years and even more now that he’s gone . I’m so great full I got almost 25 years with this amazing man.

Carol
I am very saddened upon hearing about the passing of Donald.
As you may remember I started working for Don at Amsterdam Memorial in 1971. He was my first Boss in Hospital Pharmacy and taught me everything I knew.
We had some great times and some hard times, then we drifted apart as we went different ways but he was always a good friend.
Again sorry for your loss.

Carol, Diane, and Debra,
I am so sorry and saddened at the passing of your husband (dad). He took a chance and hired me as a new graduate in 1979. I worked for him for 5 years and just want you to know how easy it was to not only work for him, but respect him as well.
He created a wonderful atmosphere to learn and practice in. I consider him the best mentor and boss any pharmacist could hope to learn from. I don't know if you realize it but, because of Don Vitello, many of the pharmacists that worked for him, went on to pharmacy directorships of their own. I can't think of a more wonderful professional legacy to be able to lay claim to.
Again, I am so very sorry and just wanted to let you know how those of us that were lucky enough to work for him, felt about him.
My condolences,
John DeSieno
