Obituary of Millicent F. Braungart

Niskayuna-Millicent Rouse Braungart 85, of Niskayuna, beloved wife, mother,
grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010
after a long illness.
Born in Center Brunswick, NY on October 11, 1924, she was the daughter of
Henry and Rena Peckham Rouse. Millicent grew up in the Lansingburgh section
of Troy, graduated from Lansingburgh High School, class of 1942, then moved
to Schenectady where she started working at General Electric as a
secretary. She married Howard E. Braungart, October 30, 1948. In 1952 she
became a stay at home Mom where she enjoyed raising her children, then in
1967, she returned to GE until 1987 when she retired. She was a member of
the GE women's Club.
Millicent was active in her church, initially at the First Methodist Church
where she taught Sunday School, then she became a member of Eastern Parkway
United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Circle B Group and
helped out in the office. She was an avid Square Dancer for 35 years and
she loved to cook and bake for her loving family and friends.
Millicent is survived by her husband of 61 years, Howard; daughters
Jacqueline (Jay) Carmody, Susan (David) Maulucci, 8 grandchildren, 12 great
grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her brothers
Willard and Donald Rouse.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Thomas
Goodman, Dr. Steven Goldberg and Dr. Iftikhar Syed and their staffs for the
exceptional care provided to Millicent.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service to celebrate
Millicent's life on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 11 AM at Eastern Parkway
United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Long officiating. Calling hours
will be Wednesday from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Jones Funeral home, 1503 Union
St.,(at McClellan St.), Schenectady for those who wish to call. Burial will
be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie, NY.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in Millicent's memory
