Mrs. Waddell was such a fun and involved part of our neighborhood in St. George, Vermont. It was an exceptional group of people, and all of the Waddell family was an important part of a rare and special childhood. Those memories will last forever. She will be missed. May she rest in peace. I am sorry for your loss, one and all. Chrissy

Ellie was an intelligent, thoughtful woman. When our three year old was in a tree outside her second story window, she made me sit in the kitchen while she quietly talked her out of the tree. Ellie knew I would add to the problem, so she took over. When I needed wisdom raising my children, she was always there.
While raising her four children, Ellie was a calm and caring mother. Our neighborhood in St. George had many young families, but I was drawn by her intelligence as a person and character as a wife and mother. The third member of our trio, Ginny also enjoyed and loved Ellie's company. Perhaps she and Ellie are talking about their children and nursing education now.
The children were children in our neighborhood, with biters, scratchers and mischievousness among them as they explored a childhood within the country setting. She even taught me that the innocent child was not always so innocent. Ellie knew children would be children and helped each of us understand this whether it was our children or hers.. Her guidance was so important to me as a very young mother.
She added to my life in so many ways as only she could do. She will be remembered by many and missed by all.
Jim and I send our heartfelt condolences to Kent, Julie, Susan, Tim, and Robin and their families.

Of course, we met 50 years ago, and Dianne and I remember good times with you and Ellie. It is with a heavy heart that we say goodby to Ellie, but we all know we will see her again in the next life.
From the famous poem:
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
