Dear Eileen, Lindy, Annie and Stevie: Rich and I would like to let you know how saddened we were to hear of Glady's passing. Growing up across the street from you, We will never forget your mother's elfish kind of laugh as she pondered all the comings and goings between the Welsh and Cohen houses. Even in moments of displeasure, Gladys was measured and kind, and boy did we create confusion as we repeatedly ran from house to house to see each other. We will never forget how kind your mother and father were to my parents, once all of us fledglings left the nest. My parents often commented that Gladys and Ray were the most compassionate people in the world, and clearly it was true.
Gladys, we will miss your beautiful and welcoming smile, with your eyes lit up, We will miss your soft spoken words and your ruffled kitchen aprons that signified "home" and brought us all such comfort even in the throngs of our adolescent self absorption. You beckoned us to seek balance in our lives and exemplified how simplicity of life and valuing faith in, as well as love and compassion for others guided you. We will never forget what a positive person you were and how that optimism lifted us all. May you rest in peace with Ray up in heaven and keep watch over your children and their children for eternity.
