Obituary of Naomi G. Powell

Naomi G. Powell, formerly of Schenectady, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Ellis Hospital. She was 77.
 
Born on January 15, 1941 in Schenectady, daughter of the late Vincent and Angelina (Perretta) Giordano. She was predeceased by her husband Robert C. Powell and her daughter Michelle Potter.
 
Naomi worked as a teacher’s aide in the Niskayuna School District, but more importantly was a devoted housewife and mother.  She had a unique quality to be endeared by those she met.  She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren.
 
She is survived by her daughter, Pati (David) Boyle, her son David (Claire) DiPippo, her son in-law Chris Potter and her brother Vincent (Sheila) Giordano. Also survived by eight adoring grandchildren, Courtney (Joe) Pickhaver, Kaitlin Potter, Alex, Erin and Kailey Boyle, Thomas, Evelyn and William DiPippo as well as her great granddaughter, Sophie Pickhaver.
 
Relatives and friends may call from 9-10 am on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Jones Funeral Home, Inc., 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady. A prayer service will be conducted at 10 am in the funeral home with  a private burial in the family plot in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
