Obituary of Maureen Ann Barton
Maureen Ann Barton of California Avenue passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018. She was 86.
Born in Albany on November 30, 1932, daughter of the late Eileen Willsey and the late Donald Adam. She is the wife of the late James C. Barton who passed away in 1986.
She retired from the State of New York where she worked as a Senior Stenographer. Maureen was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Scotia-Glenville Seniors and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She will be fondly remembered as a giving and nurturing person to all.
Survivors include her children, Bruce K. (Frances) Barton, Sr. of Tega Cay, SC, Kim-Laurie (Andre) LaPointe of Rotterdam, Jeffrey S. (Lynn) Barton of Gansevoort, Tami-Lynn Wilson of Wilmington, NC and Todd D. Barton of Schenectady as well as several grandchildren, great and great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a close circle of friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a son, Jamie L. Barton and her siblings Frances Kubina, Vera Noble and William Daley.
Relatives and friends may call from 6-8:00 pm on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Jones Funeral Home, Inc., 1503 Union Street, Schenectady. There will be visiting on Saturday from 10-10:45 am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 103 South Reynolds St., Scotia with funeral service starting at 11:00 am in the church with Pastor Dan May, officiating.
