Obituary of Edward J. Malachowski Sr.

Edward J.Malachowski, SR 90, died Friday November 30th peacefully at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness.
Edward was born January 19th, 1928 on Lansing Street in Schenectady the only son of the late John and Mary (Stypa) Malachowski. He is the husband of Bette-Jean (Malachowski) who passed away in 2005.
Mr. Malachowski was a WWII Veteran having served as a combat medic. He was employed by General Electric in Schenectady retiring in 1988 after 43 years of employment. Ed was a life member of Local 301 Electrical Union and a member of the Woodland Sportsman Club, Rotterdam. He was an Alter boy and parishioner of the Church of St. Adalbert.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his five older sisters - Julia Balcerzak, Jessie Clough, Stella Korytowski, Jane Konopka and Wanda Pisano.
Ed is survived by his son Edward J. Malachowski, Jr (David Putnam) of Scotia and his daughter Beverly L Malachowski. Two grandsons - Bryan E. Peck (Megan) of Burnt Hills and Jonathan D Peck of Waterford and one very special Great Granddaughter Emma Lynn Peck of Burnt Hills. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a very dedicated friend and neighbor Jim Raymond, who was like a son to him.
Ed was an avid fisherman and hunter. He had many fond memories of fishing on Lake Placid with his buddies Lenny and Gene. He was a loving Father and was the happiest when he spent time with his family. He was loved and cherished by everyone who was part of his life.
Calling Hours will be Sunday December 9th from 3 -5 PM at Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union Street, Schenectady, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday Dec 10 at 9:30AM at the Church of St. Adalbert 550 Lansing Street, Schenectady, NY. Burial will follow at Gerald B. Solomon National Cemetery Saratoga Springs, NY.
The family would like to thank Donna Degeorgio and his other caregivers for their care and devotion.
