Niskayuna - Winifred “Joyce” Allen, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10th, 2018.

She was born on July 11th, 1928 in Widnes, Lancashire, England to the late James and Hanna Andrews. She worked as a secretary for Lever Brothers in Port Sunlight before marrying her late husband, Hilary, in 1956.

She lived in Calcutta, India and Redcar, England before emigrating to the United States in 1970.

She enjoyed playing golf, cycling and rowing in her early years. Her passions later in life included gardening, reading and playing Scrabble with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Armenia, and son-in-law, David, of Niskayuna, and by her son, David Allen, and daughter-in-law, Susan, of Chatham, New Jersey. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Andrew, Erin, Christopher and Jillian Armenia.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Benoit Tonneau and Dr. Robert Parkes for the care they gave to Joyce over the years.

Services for the family will be held in New Jersey.
