Obituary of Helen Lord

Mrs. Helen Huff Lord of Spring Road, Scotia died Wednesday, August 13 at her home. Born in Utica, NY, she was a longtime resident of Schenectady. She was a graduate of Elmira College and completed her graduate work for a Master's degree at Syracuse University. Before her marriage she was an editor for Chemical Abstracts in Columbus, Ohio and later joined the GE Research Laboratory Library as a Reference librarian. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Schenectady and a past president of its Women's League the Garden Club of Schenectady and a former member of the DAR and the AAUW. Mrs. Lord was the widow of Arthur N. Lord. She is survived by her son, Gregory J. Lord of New York, her daughter, Ann M. Lord, son-in-law, Thomas A. Dill and granddaughters, Sophia and Emily Dill of Boston. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 6 at 11:00 in the Sanctuary of the First Reformed Church of Schenectady. There will be no calling hours. Memorial gifts may be made to the Best Friends Animal Society or the First Reformed Church Memorial Fund.
